Lead Coach - St David’s College Football Academy
Location: Ocean Park Arena/Caerau Ely FC
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Contract: Fixed Term - Full-time (Minimum 37.5 Hours per week, including evenings and weekends).
Salary: £25,000

The Lead coach of St David’s Academy will be responsible for strategic leadership, operational development, and the improvement of coaching standards and player development within the programme.
This is a leadership role working across the programmes of St David’s College, Ocean Park Arena, Caerau Ely FC and Cardiff & Vale SFA requiring expertise in managing teams, contributing to meetings, developing football programmes and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and safeguarding standards. The successful candidate will be expected to drive the vision and ambitions, in partnership with Caerau Ely FC, Cardiff & Vale SFA and Ocean Park Arena.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of the College Academy Programme
Support all programmes and the increased participation of Caerau Ely FC female programme.
Lead and further develop our expanding football camp programme.
Oversee the implementation of effective processes to ensure that safeguarding and welfare frameworks are supported and in accordance with FAW, WSFA, AOC and club policies.
Oversee and embed the established coaching philosophy and ethos across all programmes.
Excellent organisation and planning.
Evaluate coaching sessions, provide analysis and assess matchday performance.
Proficient in using social media to promote all programmes.
Provide monthly progress reports to the college and management team.
Support the various programmes including First Team, U21 Development Team and U16, U17, U19 & First Team female pathway.
Support an inclusive and strategic talent ID programme.
Support with the FAW COMET system, scheduling, logistics, and matchday operations.
Promote the College, Club and Schools’ mission and culture in the community.
Work across our various sites delivering high quality programmes.
Person Specification:
Essential:
UEFA B Licence.
Proven experience managing or overseeing a structured football development programme.
Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills working across various programmes.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational abilities.
Enhanced DBS clearance and FAW Safeguarding certification.
Clean and valid full UK driving licence.
Strong I.T skills
Desirable:
Familiarity with the COMET management system.
Income generation experience such as sponsorship, football camps to promote programmes in our community.
